My 1st trip home.. the pain and obstacle in getting there....

OK… where do I begin…? Well I guess the experience of missing the flight. From day one it was not meant to get on the 1:30PM flight on April 14th. The journey began months ago, flying out of PHL on Sunday but the only flight I can get was the 5PM one. SWA was fully booked so I religiously sat in front of the PC for that lucky ding. Who would not want to get in early and get out late of MCO for the mouse? And also I did not want to bite the double points needed on a Saturday stay at SSR. And since vaca starts Saturday getting very early in the morning on Sunday is not a problem. I waited and waited and waited but no morning flights opened so I had to finalize my dates and voila a Saturday flight opened but not Sunday. Hey might as well, so yup called the 800 number added a Saturday night and took the 1:30PM flight out of PHL.
Finally the day arrive… mind you this is the 1st time I am flying out of PHL after 12 noon … always had taken the 1st flight out anywhere I go so I guess I am a bit discombobulated, left the house at 11:00AM have enough time to get there and give me my 2 hour leeway, the airport is only 15 minutes away. Got to the airport and realized I forgot the cell phone, the most important tool in this day and age! So yup drove back to get it. Got at the airport and was at the desk exactly 1 hour 30 minutes! Ok luggages are all in off I trek upstairs to line up for the TSA entry check! Oh my God! The line was from the door to Mount Timbuktu :faint:! But told myself I have a good 1 hour and 15 minutes this should be OKEY :thumbsup2 ! 30 minutes standing in that line and it wasn’t moving at all but the line had gone back from Mount Timbuktu to Philadelphia International Airport with banners on! Finally grab one of the TSA agents and ask what is going on, she said it will take about 15 to 20 minutes and it will be OK. Well the opened a new line so I thought “praise God this is it”! Would you believe that line did not move at all? Right in front was a bunch of kids about 20 or so taking all their shoes, yapping on the cell phone giggling left and right and all waiting for who is chaperoning whose group. Finally a couple of travelers in front of me suggested going ahead since they heard my flight was on final boarding. By the time I got to the conveyor thing the one traveler with kid told me she can’t let me go since her flight is due in 45 minutes :scared1: ! So again waited for her to get the kids shoes off cried some more gave the kid milk cried some more and finally it was my turn. I must have look a mean B***h when the TSA agent commented about my shirt ( I was wearing a shirt stating “I will be nice to you if you give me chocolate” from Chocolate factory) that his girlfriend would like my shirt and all I can say was… AND??? Got through the check and ran with all my might but was too late. The plane had left the airport. I had to compose myself coz right about that minute all I can see was red! I see adolescent kids passing by and all I can think of was why you can be allowed at the airports! Why??? After counting 1 to 10 and reminded myself that I have adorable nieces and nephews and will eventually be their age all I can do was pray that hopefully they turn into a better teenagers than the one I just encountered that day! OK… on to the better part of this trip report! I was absorbed by the next flight and guess what time it was? Yes the 5:00PM flight that I tried hard not go book!
Finally!!! We landed at MCO at around 8ish. Had went straight to Dollar Car rental counter (I would never suggest Dollar at MCO. I have been using Alamo/National and Enterprise always and Dollar had a sweet deal at the time but never again they grab you in and take your entire DOLLAR and many more away with all their hidden fees!) We are going to skip this part let’s move on to finally getting a :car:. After getting directions to SSR off to 526 WEST to I-4 and then to Lake Buena Vista Ave!

Scouted the place! It was heavenly! After unpacking it was to late to run to Publix supermarket and not sure what time Goodling’s at Crossroads close either so just decided to take a shower and call it a night!
